I started today thinking of how great of a day it would be and how much I could accomplish. How did the day end with me wishing that I could wake up to a Zombie apocalypse??
Maybe zombie apocalypse is a little harsh but the point remains – our world has become a breeding ground of deep-rooted evil that should be cleansed. Sound right-wing enough for you? Well think about this – how many times have you wanted to just take someone and smash their face in just to teach them a simple lesson in respect. Or how about when a faceless corporation who makes billions of dollars per year decides that instead of paying a fee that is due, they decide to pass it along to the consumer and jack up our prices. How many of you would jump at a chance to take a baseball bat to the CEO or CFO of that organization, Mexican Style!!!
The point isn’t that we should start expressing our rage every time we are screwed over, the point is that how many of us carry that evil around inside us as well? That is the same evil that makes others pass the buck, the same evil that orders the genocide of millions. The same evil we read about daily in our newspapers and books, the evil that could make us explode in a white-hot burst of rage and decide that someone else needs to die just because I didn’t get my way and you did.
Some of you instantly turn around that say that you have never wished ill against anyone – or that you would forgive the person that has wronged you. But would you really? Would you forgive the man who sodamized your 6-year-old daughter and left her within inches of death. Would you forgive the woman who killed your children and herself, leaving you a note telling you that she was a horrible wife. Would you forgive the man who decided that left-handed people are an abomination in the eyes of god and decided that they all must die?
The point here is that we all must recognize that there is evil within each and every one of us and we all must embrace the darkness as a part of our lives. Lest we become so self-righteous that we fool ourselves into believing that we led a good and meaningful life, all while hiding some deep and abhorrent evil deed that one day spills out and ruins your entire life. Vent your evil, every once in a while because if not you’ll end up exploding in a way you may not expect. Plus that evil could come in helpful if a Zombie apocalypse breaks out, you don’t want to be one of the first eaten do you?
